With this “landmark” court ruling, it appears that public masturbation is now legal in Sweden. The court’s attitude seems to be that since the masturbator was not hurting anyone, no crime was committed. As crazy as this ruling may seem, it really shouldn’t surprise us. It is consistent with the prevailing philosophy of our times, “If it feels good, do it – as long as you are not hurting anyone.”
Liberals generally consider Sweden a model nation. The country is socialistic, highly developed, highly secular, and sexually permissive. So sexually permissive that child porn was legal there in the 1970s (although they’ve since made it illegal). Minors can legally view and possess hardcore porn and gays can legally marry. I believe that the left-leaning global elites are working to make all nations more like Sweden (or its cousins such as the Netherlands or Denmark).
A major reason that Sweden is so “progressive” is that it is essentially an atheistic country. According to a Eurobarometer Poll conducted in 2010, only 18% of Swedes believe that “there is a God.” An article on Sweden’s official website asserts that only 1 in 10 Swedes thinks that religion is important in daily life. So, it shouldn’t surprise us that “the Left” tends to be anti-religion: They know that to achieve their “progressive” goals, they need to secularize the culture.
Sweden’s “masturbation ruling” probably isn’t a big deal to most people. They will probably snicker and say, “Well, so what? Shouldn’t the police be more concerned about dealing with real crime?” When conservative Christians say that such a ruling is evidence of the steady decline of Western civilization, many people will say, “Come on, don’t be an alarmist. The sky won’t fall down.”
But the sky over Sweden is slowly falling. Family and married life in Sweden is unraveling: 55 percent of Swedes divorce (the highest rate in the world), 47 percent of Swedes live alone (the highest in the world), 54.3 percent of Swedish babies are born out of wedlock, and the birth rate is below replacement level, 1.67 percent per woman (between 35,000 and 40,000 babies are aborted each year). 15.4 percent of the population is under 15 years old; 19.7 percent is over 64 years old. Almost 20 percent of the nation’s inhabitants are immigrants or the children of immigrants. Swedes are not adequately reproducing themselves. The population is rapidly aging. The nation is relying on immigration to make up for the demographic meltdown of its native population. In short, the native Swedish population is slowly dying and is gradually being replaced by foreigners.
Similar trends are occurring in other “advanced” nations. It proves once again that nations that abandon God and traditional morality commit suicide in slow motion. Sweden’s “masturbation ruling” is one more nail in the coffin of a once healthy, Christian nation.
