The Media & The Gay Revolution

There has been, and continues to be, a dramatic change in the public’s attitudes towards homosexuality. I’m old enough to remember when “homosexuality didn’t exist.” As young teenagers in the 1970s, we did know that it existed, and joked about it. But we didn’t know anyone who admitted to being “gay.” In our school, as in any school in those days, that would have amounted to social suicide. There was no talk of legalizing “gay marriage” or “gay adoption of children.” The media did not deal with homosexuality all that much. The 1970s was the height of the sexual revolution, but it was, for the most part, a heterosexual revolution.

In the 1990s, the media began to promote homosexuality in earnest. In 1993, the movie Philadelphia featured Tom Hanks who portrayed a gay man who had contracted AIDS. In 1997, Ellen DeGeneres announced on the Oprah Winfrey Show that she was a lesbian. In 1998, the sitcom Will & Grace began, featuring a gay principal actor. Since then, the media’s pro-gay propaganda has greatly intensified. Almost always, gay characters are portrayed as harmless, loving and gentle. They are often the victims of “homophobes.” The “gay lifestyle” is depicted as fun, healthy and normal. Not surprisingly, this has had a dramatic effect on the public’s perception of homosexuality.

Recent polls have shown that, for the first time in history, roughly half of Americans support “gay marriage,” and President Obama is the first U.S. president to voice support for it. Conservatives, all along, pointed an accusing finger at the U.S. media for engineering this cultural revolution. Liberals have not denied that this accusation is true. Recently on the Piers Morgan show, David Kohan and Max Mutchnik, the Jewish writers of Will & Grace, were treated as heroes for helping to further the gay revolution.

What most of the public doesn’t seem to realize is that that the media’s depiction of the homosexual lifestyle is essentially a lie. The typical active gay man has many sexual encounters with many different partners and often with strangers. Because of the number of partners and the nature of homosexual sex, he is much more likely to contract sexually transmitted diseases than “straight” men. Very few homosexuals are in permanent, monogamous relationships. Homosexual “marriages” usually do not last very long and are characterized by infidelity. A homosexual is much more likely to be physically assaulted by another homosexual than by a non-homosexual man. The homosexual lifestyle often leads to depression, drug abuse and suicide. An active homosexual has a lower life expectancy compared to a straight man. The sexually active homosexual is a victim of his own out-of-control desires. The media is not helping the homosexual by championing his “right” to engage in gay sex, anymore that it would be helping the prostitute by championing her “right” to sell her body or the drug addict by championing his “right” to smoke crack or shoot heroin. Gays and lesbians deserve to be treated with love. However, media moguls who have poisoned the public’s mind with pro-gay propaganda have sinned greatly against the public at large and especially against homosexuals by encouraging them to live an extremely unhealthy and dangerous lifestyle.
